Gazprom and Kazakhstan have signed an agreement outlining the principal terms and conditions for processing and selling gas from the Karachaganak field for 2025-2026, Gazprom announced on Monday after a working meeting between Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar in St. Petersburg, The Caspian Post reports citing Interfax.

Gazprom said that the parties discussed the progress and prospects of the collaboration, particularly regarding gas supplies and transportation.

The meeting occurred ahead of President Vladimir Putin's visit to Kazakhstan.

Gazprom in October 2023 launched supplies of Russian natural gas to consumers in Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan. Supplies occur in reverse mode along a specially designated route via the Central Asia-Center main gas pipeline system.

Gazprom and Kazakhstan's government in November 2023 signed an agreement on strategic cooperation.
