Kazakhstan and Russia have signed an agreement to jointly modernize railway and road infrastructure, as well as border checkpoints. The agreement aims to enhance transport links, boost freight traffic, and synchronize transportation systems, The Caspian Post reports citing Kazinform News Agency.
The parties will work together, coordinate and develop action plans on the development of railway transport infrastructure and road sections running through the nations' territories and railways and road checkpoints; and exchange information in the sphere of transport and transport infrastructure development.
The parties agreed to take coordinated measures to implement roadmaps developed by competent bodies to develop railway service and rail infrastructure, develop road sections in the territories of the two nations, develop vehicle checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-Russia state border, develop railway checkpoints on the Kazakhstan-Russia state border.
The agreement is effective upon execution.
