Kyrgyzstan to Set Up Natural Disaster Monitoring Center

Climate change is emerging as one of the most significant threats to sustainable development, stated Bekzhan Rysmendeev, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, at a ministerial roundtable on "Sustainable, Digital Middle Corridor and Beyond" during COP29 in Baku, The Caspian Post reports.

According to Rysmendeev, the Ministry of Transport of Kyrgyzstan is working on creating a monitoring center to observie, prevent, and eliminate the consequences of natural disasters: "The main tool in this endeavor is the digital roadmap. This project serves as a catalyst for the development and integration of new data collection and analysis systems, combining existing automated services of the Ministry of Transport and Communications."
