The III Turkmen-Chinese Science and Innovation Forum, focused on "Innovations, new technologies, and their manufacturing applications," opened today at the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
The event, held in accordance with the Decree signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in October of this year, is aimed at exchanging accumulated positive experiences, discussing practical issues of implementing advanced innovative solutions in the leading sectors of the national economy, and enhancing scientific and technical partnerships between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China.
A representative delegation arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the forum, including Ms. Lin Xin, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, along with leaders and staff from research centers, professors and lecturers from universities of the friendly country.
On the eve of the forum, members of the Chinese delegation participated in the second meeting of the subcommittee on scientific and technical cooperation under the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee. During this meeting, they summarized the results of joint work conducted and discussed prospects for further expanding productive interaction between relevant institutions of both countries.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly and trusting nature of interstate dialogue, which has received a strong impetus for development in recent years and has achieved the status of a strategic partnership.
One of the main topics discussed was the establishment of a Turkmen-Chinese Center for Scientific and Technical Cooperation at the International Scientific and Technological Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
This proposal was formalized by a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the International Scientific and Technological Park of Turkmenistan's Academy of Sciences and the Hubei Province International Scientific and Technical Exchange Center of the People's Republic of China.
The search for effective forms and new areas for interaction among representatives of scientific circles from both countries continued within the framework of this third Turkmen-Chinese Science and Innovation Forum. The forum was preceded by a specially organized exhibition of innovative technologies.
The extensive exhibition provided numerous foreign guests with a clear demonstration of the high level of development of modern Turkmenistan. The country pays special attention to comprehensive improvement in science and education, actively implementing innovations and advanced technologies in all areas of state and societal life.
Participants enthusiastically listened to the welcoming address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing that "the accelerated development of science has led to innovative directions in activity, expanding horizons for scientific research and mutually beneficial targeted partnerships."
Subsequent speeches highlighted that fundamental and applied science development, study of global scientific-technical progress achievements, broad implementation of innovative technologies, and promising developments into production are foundations for any state's prosperity. These efforts improve people's quality of life, open new opportunities for industrial and agricultural complex development, and form a competitive economy for the future.
Turkmenistan serves as an exemplary model in this regard, having prioritized science and education development as key directions in state policy.
Today's reports covered theoretical and practical aspects across various fields, current research directions in Turkmenistan and China, issues related to creating competitive, environmentally safe, economically efficient high technologies, and actively implementing science-intensive solutions into production.
The forum also engaged in discussions about fruitful cooperation prospects between Turkmen and Chinese scientists across diverse fields. They identified points for future joint activities within national development program priorities.
Key areas for developing interstate relations included strengthening scientific-technological cooperation, personnel training and mutual transformation achievements in scientific-technological innovations.
It was noted that the Academy of Sciences, research institutes and universities of Turkmenistan are intensifying efforts in scientific exchange while discussing potential partnership projects with China's relevant institutions. This strengthens bilateral ties and promotes dynamic socio-economic development for both countries.
Delegates showed particular interest in reports on innovative urban planning concepts.
According to general opinion, the construction of the first "smart" city in the country and Central Asian region, Arkadag, based on the latest information and communication technologies, is the grand project symbolizing the monumental transformations of the new historical era, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag, and now consistently continued under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Among the important topics on the agenda are modern agro-technologies, comprehensive development of hydro-mineral raw materials and other natural resources, achievements in genetics and breeding, implementation of innovative technologies in industrial production, solving environmental issues, research on effective methods for preventing and treating various diseases, and more.
Expressing confidence that the current science and innovation forum will be a significant step towards deepening scientific-technical partnership and strengthening constructive Turkmen-Chinese dialogue overall, attendees expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag for the multifaceted activities aimed at comprehensive expansion of international, including scientific, cooperation in the interests of global sustainable development.
Tomorrow, the III Turkmen-Chinese Science and Innovation Forum "Innovations, new technologies and issues of their manufacturing application" will continue its work.
A series of bilateral meetings and "round tables" are planned to discuss promising directions and forms of cooperation between scientific institutions in several key areas.
The topics for discussion will include: "Chemical technologies, innovative technologies in processing natural raw materials"; "Nanotechnologies, development and production of new materials"; "Biotechnologies, innovative technologies in agriculture"; "Seismology"; "Information and telecommunication systems, computer technologies"; "Energy-saving technologies, alternative energy sources"; "Advanced technologies in medicine and pharmacology"; "Humanities".
A package of bilateral documents will be signed following the forum.
