Uzbekistan's Cabinet of Ministers Resigns
The government is obliged to resign its powers before the newly elected Parliament, but it can continue working until the formation of the new Parliament in accordance with the President's decision.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has resigned, with Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov signing the decree on November 19, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.
According to the President's decree, the current government will perform its duties until a new Cabinet of Ministers is formed, press secretary of the Prime Minister Bekzod Khidoyatov said.
The government is obliged to resign its powers before the newly elected Parliament, but it can continue working until the formation of the new Parliament in accordance with the President's decision.
The President of Uzbekistan submits the candidacy of the Prime Minister for consideration by the Legislative Chamber within a month after the formation.
The candidate presents an action program for the Cabinet of Ministers for the near and long term. His candidacy is considered approved if more than a half of the total number of members of the Legislative Chamber vote for it.
After the Prime Minister's approval, the formation of the new government begins.
On October 27, regular parliamentary elections were held in Uzbekistan. MPs were elected for a new five-year term under a mixed majoritarian-proportional model. Out of 150 seats in the lower house, 75 MPs were elected in single-mandate constituencies, and 75 in a single constituency based on votes cast for political parties.
The ruling Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan received the majority of votes during the elections.
