Kazakhstan is scheduled to hold an electronic auction on November 18, 2026, to offer subsoil use rights for 26 oil and gas blocks, according to information from EnergyMonitor, The Caspian Post reports.

Prospective subsoil users can submit their applications through the e-Qazyna platform until October 5.

The offered blocks are spread across seven regions: Kostanay, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Atyrau, Pavlodar, West Kazakhstan, and Ulytau.

Oil and gas expert Nurlan Zhumagulov detailed that out of the 26 total lots, 24 blocks are designated for exploration with the subsequent right to production. The remaining two fields-Aiyrtau-II and Dongeleksor-are being auctioned directly for production.

This upcoming sale follows a previous auction that generated limited commercial interest. During that round, the Ministry of Energy put 30 blocks up for bid, but received applications for only nine of them. Bidding for those nine blocks is set to take place on August 11, 2026.
