The Georgian government has officially extended an invitation to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to deploy an election observation mission for the country’s upcoming local elections, scheduled for October 4.
Speaking at a press briefing, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze confirmed that a formal written invitation had already been sent to the OSCE/ODIHR, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
“We hope that despite repeated insults and pressure, the OSCE/ODIHR will not refuse to deploy an observation mission to Georgia. The Georgian government reaffirms its full readiness, as always, to provide all necessary conditions for ODIHR observers to carry out their work effectively,” said Kobakhidze.
