Georgia's capital Tbilisi is set to host the Red Bull Soapbox Race on September 13, with a series of traffic restrictions planned in the city center from September 11 to 14.

Tbilisi City Hall said vehicle traffic around Europe Square and several adjacent streets will be restricted in stages due to the event, according to Sputnik Georgia.

During the first stage, from the evening of September 11 until 10 p.m. (GMT+4) on September 12, restrictions will affect Gvinis Agmarti (Wine Rise), Dutu Megreli Street, parts of the Metekhi Bridge and Europe Square.

The second stage will begin at 10 p.m. on September 12 and continue until 3 a.m. on September 14. During this period, traffic will be completely closed on Europe Square, the Metekhi Bridge, Gvinis Agmarti, Dutu Megreli Street and a section of Noe Zhordania Embankment. Public transport routes will also be adjusted.

Tbilisi will host the Red Bull Soapbox Race for the second time on September 13. A total of 22 participants will race down Gvinis Agmarti in homemade vehicles powered solely by the slope of the road and gravity.

The competition will not be about speed alone. Judges will also assess the design and creativity of the homemade vehicles, adding a spectacular entertainment element to the gravity-powered race.
