Georgia welcomed 115,416 tourists from Central Asia in the first half of 2026, marking a 3.1% increase compared with the same period last year.

The strongest growth came in the second quarter, when international visits from the region rose 6.9% year-on-year to 76,405, The Caspian Post reports via Imedi News.

Kazakhstan remained Georgia's largest tourism market in Central Asia, with 44,943 visitors, up 9.4% from a year earlier. Uzbekistan followed with 19,769 visitors, an increase of 2.8%.

The tourism administration said Central Asia continues to be one of Georgia's priority source markets. To attract more visitors, the country is conducting promotional campaigns, participating in international tourism exhibitions, organizing business-to-business (B2B) meetings, roadshows, presentations, and familiarization tours for travel industry professionals.

Air connectivity has also expanded, with 17 routes currently linking Georgia to Central Asian countries. During the 2026 summer season, airlines including Air Astana, FlyArystan, SCAT Airlines, and Centrum Air increased flight frequencies between Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
