Georgian President Extends Condolences to Turkish Counterpart Over Plane Crash

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has sent condolences to his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the crash of a Turkish military cargo plane.

In a post on X, Kavelashvili noted that the horrific tragedy has brought great sorrow to Georgia, The Caspian Post reports.

"We wish to express our deepest condolences and share your profound sorrow over the tragic loss of life caused by the crash of the Turkish military cargo aircraft within Georgian territory. This appalling tragedy has brought us immense grief. In these painful and difficult moments, we stand in unwavering solidarity with the people of the Republic of Türkiye," President Kavelashvili wrote.

A Turkish C-130 military cargo aircraft en route from Azerbaijan crashed in Georgia, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday.
