Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has held phone talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, US president's Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, and Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, focusing on efforts to support regional security.
The talks centered on supporting regional security, stability, and de-escalation following the Cairo Agreement between Iran and the IAEA, signed on September 9, The Caspian Post reports via Iranian media.
"During these calls, the need to continue efforts to reduce tensions, build confidence, and create conditions for the resumption of negotiations between Iran and the United States to reach a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue that takes into account the interests of all parties and contributes to achieving regional security and stability was discussed. It was agreed to continue monitoring efforts and contacts and to consider proposed ideas to achieve the expected progress in this regard," the Egyptian Foreign Ministry's statement says.
