Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Madanizadeh has emphasized the strengthening economic and cultural ties between Iran and Tajikistan, describing them as an important foundation for sustainable regional development.

Speaking at the 2025 International Investment Forum in Dushanbe on October 14, Madanizadeh outlined green investment, energy, technology, transportation, and agriculture as key areas for future cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

The forum, dedicated to sustainable investment, served as a platform for exchanging ideas and building new regional partnerships.

The minister noted that the event acted as a “bridge to a prosperous future,” reflecting a shared goal to boost bilateral trade to over $500 million. He highlighted recent agreements in transport, customs, fisheries, mining, and agriculture as essential steps toward that target.

Madanizadeh also praised Tajikistan’s potential in renewable energy, mining, and water resources, calling the country a reliable and attractive investment destination.

Despite ongoing international sanctions, he reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to expand regional cooperation, particularly in clean energy, the digital economy, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.

The minister stressed that lasting regional integration, inspired by the heritage of the ancient Silk Road, relies on strengthening both bilateral and multilateral partnerships.

This renewed cooperation follows a recent meeting between the presidents of Iran and Tajikistan, during which the two countries signed 23 agreements aimed at expanding collaboration across multiple sectors.
