Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has announced that the country is withdrawing its diplomatic personnel from Iran.
The move comes after President Ilham Aliyev ordered the full withdrawal of Azerbaijani diplomats from Tehran, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
“This process affects both the embassy in Tehran and the consulate in Tabriz. Appropriate work is currently underway in this direction,” Bayramov said, signaling a significant diplomatic escalation between the two neighbors.
