Iran’s Parliament to Vote on Defense Minister Nominee Soon

Iran’s parliament is scheduled to consider a confidence vote for the country’s defense minister nominee on Sunday, October 18.

The date was announced by Ebrahim Ebrahimpour, a member of the presidium of Iran’s parliament, according to Iran International.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian previously proposed Mehrdad Akhlaghi for the position.

Lawmakers are expected to review the nominee’s proposed program before holding a final vote on whether to approve his appointment.
