Iranian Army Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, chief of the Army Force for Coordination Affairs, has said the country’s Armed Forces exercise control over both sides of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Sayyari said the western part of the waterway, the strait itself and the Persian Gulf are under the control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, while the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz and the northern Indian Ocean are controlled by the Iranian Army Navy, The Caspian Post reports, citing Mehr news agency.

“We are operating decisively in the northern Sea of Oman and east of the Strait of Hormuz, and we do not allow anyone to pass,” he said, adding that IRGC forces were also maintaining their positions.

“The reality is that the Strait of Hormuz is under our complete control of the Iranian Armed Forces,” Sayyari said.

He stressed the Iranian Army’s high level of readiness to respond to threats, saying that every war provides lessons that military personnel must learn from and apply to improve their capabilities.
