Iranian armed forces have launched retaliatory attacks following US strikes on the southern parts of the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian response involved missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), The Caspian Post reports, citing Fars news agency.

Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces had carried out a series of strikes against targets in Iran.

Iranian outlet Press TV reported that several explosions were heard along the country’s southern coast, including on Qeshm Island and in several coastal cities.
