A member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts says the country could select a new Supreme Leader within the next 24 hours.
Ayatollah Mozaffari told reporters that 88 senior clerics of the Assembly are “impatiently waiting” for conditions to hold a session to pick Iran’s next supreme leader, The Caspian Post reports, citing CNN.
“We have firm hope that, with divine success, this work will take place within the next 24 hours,” Mozaffari said.
He also urged the public to avoid speculation, noting that no official selection has been made yet, according to Fars News Agency.
