Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran still has the capability to enrich uranium and will not yield to pressure for a complete halt of its enrichment activities, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
In an interview with the Financial Times on Thursday, July 31, he stated, “As long as Trump demands zero enrichment from Iran, there will be no agreement.”
Araghchi confirmed Washington has floated the idea of resuming talks but stressed that Tehran expects meaningful trust‑building measures before it will return to negotiations.
He described the diplomatic path as “difficult but not impossible,” signaling Iran’s readiness to engage if its conditions are respected.
European powers, including Germany, France, and the UK, have called on Iran to rejoin nuclear talks, warning that UN sanctions could be reinstated if it refuses.Tehran withdrew from the negotiations after Israeli and U.S. strikes on its nuclear sites, accusing Washington of sabotaging dialogue while insisting its facilities are for peaceful purposes.
The deadlock has heightened concerns of renewed confrontation in the Middle East, as world powers urge diplomacy to salvage the fragile nuclear framework before it unravels completely.
