Iran has conveyed its conditions for ending the conflict to the US through a Qatari mediator in New York, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said.

Baghaei said Tehran is demanding an end to hostilities on all fronts and a halt to what Iran describes as “acts of aggression” by the US, according to IRNA.

“Iran’s conditions also include ending the naval blockade and economic warfare, as well as unfreezing Iranian assets,” Baghaei said.

The statement comes after US special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff said the American and Iranian delegations had held lengthy indirect talks on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Witkoff said that intermediaries exchanged messages between the two sides throughout the day as diplomatic efforts continued.
