Iranian attacks on US military bases across the Middle East have caused at least $5 billion in damage, with some damaged infrastructure potentially never being rebuilt.
Iranian strikes damaged at least 274 structures across 24 military facilities, according to mk.ru.
As of October 16, the cost of the US military operation against Iran had reached $47.1 billion. This figure does not include damage to American military bases, which the Pentagon has estimated at a minimum of $5 billion. However, the actual cost could be as high as $15 billion.
Washington is reportedly discussing with its allies the possibility of sharing the costs of certain repair projects. Nevertheless, some damaged facilities may not be restored.
US officials are particularly concerned about the accuracy of Iran’s attacks. One indication of Tehran’s precision, according to the report, was its ability to hit relatively small structures within American military bases.
