Iraq has reportedly closed most border crossings with Iran until further notice amid allegations that Tehran was involved in attacks on Saudi Arabia launched from Iraqi territory in September.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi personally ordered the closures after Baghdad obtained what it considers evidence of Iran’s involvement in the attacks, according to Shafaq News.
Iraqi authorities reportedly suspect that Iran was involved in a strike on Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline. They also allege that Iran imported drone components into border areas of Iraq, where they were assembled and later used in attacks against Saudi Arabia.
