The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced new conditions under which countries could receive safe passage through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC said that any Arab or European country that expels the ambassadors of Israel and the US from its territory will be granted unrestricted access to the waterway starting March 10, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.

Those countries would receive “full rights and freedom” to use the strategic shipping route if they sever diplomatic relations with both Israel and the US.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, with nearly one-fifth of global oil supplies passing through it, making it a key flashpoint for international markets.
