The Dried Fruit Exporters Union of Afghanistan announced in a statement on Wednesday the signing of a $90 million agreement between Afghan authorities and an Iranian shipping company.
The deal was finalized on the sidelines of a multilateral business meeting involving senior commercial officials from Afghanistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, and India, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
Under the agreement, Afghan goods will be transported aboard Iranian vessels to international markets, expanding Afghanistan’s export routes and reducing shipping costs.
Officials say the deal will enhance Afghanistan’s trade capacity and provide producers with greater access to global customers.
