U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that President Donald Trump is willing to meet Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to discuss ways to resolve the crisis surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.
Rubio explained that Trump would agree to such talks if Khamenei took the initiative and showed readiness to engage on pressing issues, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
Moreover, Rubio said he was confident that if the ayatollah were to express a desire to meet the president, the president would agree, not because he shared the ayatollah’s views, but because he believed such meetings were a way to address global problems.
