The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a travel advisory urging Russian citizens to carefully weigh the necessity of visiting Iran, despite signs of stabilization in the country’s internal situation.
The statement, delivered by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, comes amid ongoing regional tensions that continue posing risks to travelers, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
Zakharova noted that Iran has reopened its airspace and resumed international air travel, including routes through the capital, Tehran. She added that the Russian Embassy’s consular section in Tehran has resumed operations in a normal capacity.
“We are observing a relative stabilization of the situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, marked by the reopening of its airspace and the restoration of international flight connections,” Zakharova said.
Nevertheless, she cautioned that the region remains unstable and advised Russian nationals to stay alert and informed.
“We recommend that Russian citizens assess the necessity of traveling to Iran, remain vigilant, follow local authority advisories, and monitor updates from Russian diplomatic missions abroad,” she added.
