A US fighter jet has destroyed an Iranian air defense missile launcher on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz following a missile launch targeting an American aircraft.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a missile from the island toward a US aircraft during the night of November 3. In response, an American fighter jet struck and destroyed the launcher used in the attack, according to TASS.

Earlier, the United States has been carrying out limited strikes against Iran for several weeks without publicly announcing them. Washington is reportedly seeking to avoid creating the impression that it intends to resume full-scale military operations against Tehran.
