Smoke rising near the city of Parand, southwest of Tehran, was caused by a blaze in reed beds along a nearby river, the head of the Parand fire department said.
Authorities confirmed that the smoke observed in the area was the result of vegetation catching fire, rather than an industrial or urban inciden, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iran International.
