A tank containing liquefied gas caught fire in the settlement of Novy Khushet in Russia’s Dagestan region, according to the regional Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the regional department, emergency services received information about the blaze involving a liquefied gas tank in Novy Khushet, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.
During firefighting operations, rescuers discovered the body of a deceased man. Authorities are currently working to establish his identity.
The regional emergency department said that 63 personnel and 19 vehicles have been deployed to contain and extinguish the fire.
Novy Khushet is located on the outskirts of Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan. A petroleum storage facility is also situated in the settlement.
