Young Kazakhstanis have received $1.5 billion since the start of the National Fund for Children project. The program started on January 1, 2024, The Caspian Post reports citing the Zakon.kz.
It provides for the annual accrual of funds from the National Fund to each child born since 2006. According to the Ministry of Finance, in 2024, 6,919,131 children became participants in the program. Each of them received $100.52.
"The total amount of accruals was 695.5 million US dollars. Of the total number of children who received money from the National Fund, 304,815 people reached 18 years of age in 2024, and a total of 30.6 million US dollars were transferred to them," the government press service reported.
In 2025, the number of participants increased to 6,921,035 children, of which 324,430 Kazakhstanis turned 18 years old, and the amount of accruals was $129.38.
"For children who have been participating in the program for two years, the total amount of savings, taking into account the investment income received, was $232.94," the government added.
Let us recall that the funds are accumulated until the child reaches 18 years of age, after which they can be used to improve housing conditions or pay for education. The program provides for an annual transfer of 50% of the National Fund's investment income to special savings accounts for children until they reach 18 years of age without the right to early withdrawal.
