Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan Agree on “Green Corridor” for Fruit and Vegetable Supplies

Kazakhstan’s First Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Aizhan Bizhanova has said that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan agreed to establish a “green corridor” for the supply of fruits and vegetables.

Bizhanova said that the initiative aims to boost Kazakhstan’s imports of agricultural products from Azerbaijan, especially during the off-season when domestic demand is high, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“We have a significant need for fruits and vegetables during the off-season. Therefore, we are launching a ‘green corridor’ between our customs authorities to ensure the unhindered delivery of Azerbaijani fruits and vegetables to Kazakhstan,” Bizhanova said.

She emphasized that the project would not only help meet the needs of the domestic market but also enable Kazakhstan to process part of the imported produce for re-export to the European Union, China, and Russia.
