A shocking assault in Almaty, Kazakhstan, has left a 66-year-old retiree hospitalized after she was violently assaulted at a bus stop in the Bostandyk district.
The incident occurred on Sanatorium Almaty Street, where an unidentified man reportedly waited until the area was nearly empty before striking, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

An unknown attacker assaulted a 66-year-old pensioner at a bus stop in the Bostandyk district on Sanatoriy Almaty street.

According to the victim’s daughter, who shared footage of the attack on social media platform Threads, the suspect approached from behind and began repeatedly hitting the woman with his fists and kicking her in the head and upper body.
The victim was rushed to the hospital following the attack.
Police have since launched a criminal investigation. The suspect has been identified, detained, and placed in a temporary detention facility as the case proceeds.
