Deputy Minister: Kazakhstan-Made Beef Stands Out for Low Prices

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin has highlighted that Kazakhstan-produced beef remains among the most affordable worldwide.

Speaking on the sidelines of a government session, Zhumangarin said, “Our beef is one of the lowest-priced not only in the post-Soviet space but possibly globally. In neighboring countries, Kazakh meat sells for $10-12 per kilogram. Restaurants even label it as ‘Meat from Kazakhstan’ on their menus, and it is in high demand. Yet, such prices are not available domestically,” The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He stressed that the government has no plans to suspend meat exports. “Farms with legitimate export contracts, organized feedlots, and responsible practices will continue their supplies,” he explained. “At the same time, we will take strict measures against intermediaries who underfeed cattle, neglect livestock, and pursue only short-term profit. This will not be tolerated.”
