Direct flights will be introduced from the Kazakh city of Almaty to New York and Tokyo starting this year, offering enhanced connectivity between the cities.
The Kazakh Culture and Sport Ministry’s Tourism Industry Committee submitted the draft plan for the comprehensive development of the Almaty mountain cluster for 2025/29 for public debate, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazinform.
According to it, direct flights are slated for launch from Almaty to Frankfurt, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Mumbai, Chengdu, New York and Tokyo in 2025.
If realized, the plan will help increase the number of foreign arrivals from 630,000 to 1,8 million in 2029.
As earlier reported, Kazakhstan’s Air Astana will launch direct flights to Frankfurt and Mumbai.
