An earthquake struck near Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, on December 4 around 12:45 p.m. (GMT+5), sending tremors through the city.
Sirens sounded, and some residents received phone alerts warning of potential danger, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
The Kazakh Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded the quake at a magnitude of 2-3. No injuries or damage have been reported. Residents in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, also felt the tremors.
