Robot dog platforms are being introduced in the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, to enhance public safety and support law enforcement operations.
The new robotic systems are designed to assist police in patrolling public spaces, monitoring real-time situations, and helping prevent potential offenses, The Caspian Post reports via Orda.kz.
The robots are equipped with advanced video surveillance systems that transmit live data directly to the Operational Control Center. They can detect suspicious objects, identify smoke or fire incidents, and automatically alert emergency services when needed.
The technology could be expanded in the future for use in specialized and counter-terrorism operations. With further upgrades, the robotic platforms may be able to inspect hazardous sites remotely and safely move suspicious objects, reducing risks for personnel.
Similar robotic systems have already been tested in cities such as Astana and Almaty, where they were used in police demonstrations and pilot programs.
