President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Independence Day.

In a telegram addressed to President Aliyev, President Tokayev praised Azerbaijan’s achievements during the years of independence and highlighted the country’s growing international standing, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

“Over the years of sovereign development, Azerbaijan has achieved impressive success in strengthening statehood, advancing socio-economic growth, and enhancing its authority on the world stage. There is no doubt that under your strong and wise leadership, fraternal Azerbaijani people will successfully reach high goals in ensuring the further sustainable growth of the economy," the telegram reads.

The Kazakh leader also wished President Aliyev continued success in his state activities, while extending wishes of prosperity and well-being to the people of Azerbaijan.
