Kazakhstan’s Energy Vice Minister Sungat Yessimkhanov and Kazenergy Association head Zhandos Nurmaganbetov have visited South Korea to study modern water and hydropower technologies.
The delegation attended a technical program by Korea Water Resources Development Corporation (K-water) in Daejeon, covering water management policies, cutting-edge power technologies, and funding strategies for medium hydroelectric projects, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
They also toured the K-water Integrated Water Operation Center and Daecheong Dam and held talks with leading Korean energy companies, including KOMIPO, KOEN, KHNP, and KIND.
Officials discussed collaboration on a multistage hydropower project in southeast Kazakhstan. The planned Uba River hydroelectric cascade has been officially designated a strategic water management facility, underlining its national significance for energy and water resources.
