President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree appointing new diplomatic envoys to several countries.
Altai Abibullayev has been named as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Slovenia. A seasoned diplomat, Abibullayev has held various positions in Kazakhstan’s foreign service and public communications sectors, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
Daulet Batrashev, who currently serves as Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Croatia, will also represent Kazakhstan as Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro on a concurrent basis. His expanded portfolio reflects Kazakhstan’s growing engagement in the Balkan region.
Anuarbek Akhmetov, Ambassador to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, has been appointed the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia, further strengthening Kazakhstan’s diplomatic presence in North Africa.
In a separate announcement, Yerzhan Ashikbayev has been appointed as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. Ashikbayev previously served as Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the US and brings extensive international experience to his new role.
