Kazakh Leader Visits Astana’s New Greenline Boulevard to Review Urban Renewal Efforts

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has visited Greenline Boulevard in Astana’s Nura district.

The president was briefed on the completion of the first phase of the Greenline Boulevard project, which spans 3.8 hectares, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

The newly developed area features pedestrian and cycling paths, architectural installations, and artificial ponds designed to enhance the city’s green infrastructure and public spaces.

Astana mayor Zhenis Kassymbek reported that large-scale renovation efforts are currently underway across the capital. A total of 170 public spaces and courtyards are being upgraded, while landscaping projects are progressing in the Botanic Garden, Triathlon Park, Ataturk Park, the Parks of Peace and Reconciliation and the Presidential Park, as well as along major city thoroughfares.

The mayor also noted that the landscaping concept for Mynzhyldyk Alley has been finalized, and reconstruction works on the Yessil River embankment are ongoing.

During the visit, President Tokayev emphasized the importance of continuing infrastructure and beautification projects to foster a modern, comfortable, and environmentally sustainable urban environment for residents.

Earlier, the president took part in the Taza Qazaqstan environmental campaign, reaffirming his commitment to promoting ecological awareness and sustainable development in Kazakhstan.
