Kazakh President Proposes Creation of Vice President Role

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has announced that Kazakhstan will create a vice president position.

President Tokayev made these remarks at the National Kurultai in Kyzylorda, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Tokayev said the new post will “organically complete the political structure” that has been carefully built over several years and plans to enshrine it in the Constitution.

He also proposed abolishing the state advisor role currently held by Yerlan Karin.
