President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has tasked the Government and the National Bank of Kazakhstan with bringing inflation down within three years, underscoring personal accountability for achieving results.
The head of state stressed that inflation must be reduced to a stable and manageable level, avoiding sharp swings and without undermining economic growth, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
He noted that the drivers of high inflation are well known, and the challenge now is to resolve the issue without harming the country’s development trajectory.
Tokayev instructed the Government and the National Bank to jointly prepare a phased action plan, engaging all relevant state agencies and the expert community. He emphasized the need for targeted measures to deliver tangible progress over the three-year horizon and to ensure strict implementation of the agreed roadmap.
