Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has held a phone talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss preparations for his upcoming state visit to Moscow, underscoring the visit’s role in strengthening the strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.

The sides also exchanged views on current international developments and key regional issues, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Earlier, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said Moscow is eagerly anticipating Tokayev’s first state visit, speaking at the second Kazakhstan-Russia Media Forum.
