Kazakh Student Wins Gold at International WorldSkills Tournament in China

A student from Kazakhstan has secured first place at a prestigious international skills competition held in China, highlighting the country’s growing strength in technical and vocational education.

The WorldSkills Industrial Design Technology International Invitational Tournament took place in Shenzhen, bringing together young professionals from several countries, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and China, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Representing Kazakhstan was Darya Melnik, a third-year student at the College of Information Technologies in Pavlodar and the current national champion in Industrial Design.

At the end of the competition, Melnik delivered an outstanding performance across industrial design tasks and was awarded first place overall, becoming the tournament’s gold medalist.

She was coached by instructor Boris Grigoryev, also from the College of Information Technologies, who guided her preparation for the international stage.

Organizers noted that participants were evaluated on their professional skills, creative thinking, and ability to solve real-world design challenges under competitive conditions.
