Kazakhstan Announces New Head of Presidential Administration

Kazakhstan has appointed Roman Sklyar as the new Head of the Presidential Administration.

The president issued a decree relieving Sklyar of his previous post and assigning him to the key administrative role, marking a significant reshuffle within the government leadership, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Sklyar is a seasoned public official with decades of experience in Kazakhstan’s state and economic sectors. He began his career in 1989 at Ekibastuzugleavtomatika and later held various positions in industrial and regional companies in Pavlodar between 1990 and 2002.

From 2003 to 2006, he worked in the administrations of Pavlodar city and region, before joining the Astana city administration in 2006.

His central government career includes serving as Vice Minister of Transport and Communications (2011), Vice Minister of National Economy (2016), Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development (2019), Deputy Prime Minister (2019), and First Deputy Prime Minister (2022).
