Kazakhstan is rapidly gaining recognition as a regional center for medical tourism, with a growing number of international patients traveling to the country for specialized treatment.
In recent years, Kazakhstan has seen an influx of foreign nationals seeking both outpatient and inpatient care from across Central Asia, the Middle East, and beyond, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
Visitors come from countries such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Mongolia, India, Türkiye, China, Azerbaijan, and the United Arab Emirates, drawn by Kazakhstan’s expanding portfolio of advanced medical services.
The country’s appeal lies in its expertise in high-tech medical procedures, particularly in fields like neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, oncology, traumatology, and orthopedics. In addition to these core areas, many international patients travel for reproductive health services-notably in vitro fertilization (IVF)-as well as dental care and cosmetic treatments.
Leading destinations for medical tourists include Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent, along with other regional hubs, where hospitals and clinics offer state-of-the-art facilities, modern diagnostic equipment, and highly qualified specialists.
According to official data, more than 10,000 patients from over 45 countries visit Kazakhstan annually to receive medical care. All services for foreign nationals are provided on a paid basis.
