Kazakhstan and Canada have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation, underscoring growing momentum in trade, investment, and political dialogue during a recent high-level phone call between the countries’ foreign ministers.
Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev had a phone talk with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
During the conversation, Kosherbayev congratulated Canada on its successful G7 chairmanship and noted the steady growth of Kazakh-Canadian economic cooperation, including major joint projects with Cameco, Ivanhoe, Teck Resources, First Quantum Minerals, and B2Gold.
Anand emphasized Canada’s interest in deepening collaboration across trade, energy, investment, innovation, and education, stressing the importance of maintaining regular high-level dialogue. The ministers also exchanged views on global developments and ongoing cooperation within international platforms.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s ambassador Daulet Batrashov presented his credentials to Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatović, signaling continued diplomatic engagement.
