Kazakhstan Declares 2026 Year of Digitalization and AI

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed an executive order officially declaring 2026 as the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.

The order tasks the government with implementing key measures for digitalization and AI, while the Presidential Administration will oversee its execution. The decree takes effect immediately, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

President Tokayev first announced the initiative in his New Year’s Eve speech, emphasizing the country’s commitment to advancing digital transformation and AI development.

Earlier today, the first government meeting of 2026 focused on digitalization and AI priorities for the year.
