Kazakh President Shares 2026 Roadmap for National Progress

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has shared his vision for Kazakhstan’s development in 2026.

Tokayev described the year ahead as challenging, marking a new stage of political transformation and economic reform, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“Modernization must be irreversible, fundamentally reshaping society,” he said, emphasizing the role of citizens-especially youth-in adapting to new realities.

He highlighted that 2026 has been declared the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, calling it a historic opportunity for the economy and public sectors, from education to healthcare and governance.

The president also noted the 35th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence, stressing it should symbolize progress, not just celebration, and inspire the creation of new development plans.

Tokayev announced his continued involvement in the Taza Qazaqstan (Clean Kazakhstan) initiative, connecting cleanliness to self-development, collective responsibility, and national values. He noted that 2026 is the UN International Year of Volunteers, reinforcing the campaign’s significance.

Earlier in the interview, Tokayev spoke about the strategic role of nuclear energy and critical minerals in Kazakhstan’s long-term growth.
