Kazakhstan Deploys AI-Powered Robot Dogs to Help Police Identify Wanted Suspects

Astana police have deployed four AI-powered robot dogs to monitor public spaces, stream live video to command centers and help identify wanted individuals in Kazakhstan.

The robotic units are being used in shopping malls and other crowded public areas as part of Kazakhstan’s efforts to strengthen public security through advanced technology, Qazinform News Agency reports.

Equipped with artificial intelligence-powered cameras, the robot dogs can monitor their surroundings and transmit live footage directly to the Operations Control Center, allowing officers to assess situations and respond quickly to potential incidents.

“The robot dogs are equipped with AI-powered video cameras, making it possible to monitor their surroundings and transmit video information in real time directly to the Operations Control Center,” police said.

“This enables officers to quickly assess the situation in public places and take timely and appropriate action when necessary.”

One of the technology’s key features is its ability to help locate wanted individuals. The integrated AI system performs real-time facial matching and automatically sends an alert to the Operations Control Center when a potential match is detected.

According to law enforcement officials, the technology can improve response times and support efforts to track down wanted persons.
