Kazakhstan, Iran Stress Growing Opportunities for Cooperation

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has highlighted strong prospects for Kazakhstan-Iran cooperation during extended talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Astana.

President Tokayev noted that over 33 years of diplomatic relations, both nations have built close interstate cooperation, a constructive political dialogue, and active engagement through the Intergovernmental Economic Commission, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

"Interparliamentary ties and a broad legal framework of over 50 signed agreements further strengthen the partnership," the Kazakh leader said.

“All this is clear evidence of our traditional friendship and partnership,” President Tokayev added, praising Iran’s growing socio-economic and scientific-technical potential. He wished Iran further prosperity and conveyed his regards to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Kazakh president highlighted growing bilateral trade and emphasized the need to diversify economic cooperation. Key areas of focus include agriculture, transport and logistics, mining, industry, medicine, and advanced technologies. President Tokayev expressed confidence that the documents signed during the visit will boost political and economic collaboration.
